As of February 2020, Salvtech are now able to offer Tungsten Carbide hardfacing for our L&M pattern spare parts for pumps. This surface coating provides increased resistance to wear, corrosion and oxidisation and is regarded as the best possible choice for combating abrasion. This upgrade is recommended for any process which handles highly abrasive mediums and considered a ‘high wear’ application. The benefits these parts provide include increases in efficiency, cost savings due to increased part/asset lifespan, as well as a reduction in the number of spares you need to carry and reduced down time. The most commonly coated parts in pump applications are impellers and sideplates, as well as casings. However, any part can be requested to have the Tungsten Carbide hardfacing applied to it.
