The Algas Microfilter can be used for a number of different applications:
Stock preparation:
The Microfilter can be used to treat the filtrate from screw presses with the possibilities of recovering for re-use the clear water and saving the fibre, if appropriate. In some cases the water is passed forward to the bio-plant if it is not re-used. The Microfilter can also be used in this application to act as a fractionator, separating fines and ash from good fibre.
Fibre and water recovery:
The Microfilter can be used in treating excess white water, saving fibre and providing clear filtrate to safely replace fresh water on wire showers and other re-use areas. In this application it offers a more reliable solution than, for example, DAF Flotation units or Disc Filter solutions as it neither depends on vacuum/drop legs or the use of polymer. The resulting filtrate from Microfilters can be consistently reliable and “fibre free”.
Test filter
As we want you to be sure of the performance of our Microfilters on your water treatment application, you can try out the ALGAS Microfilter concept in your own mill.
Most of our customers have found the best way to evaluate the efficiency and advantages of our concept, is to operate a Test Filter on their own «Live Water» treatment application.
With the quick and easy temporary installation of one of our Test Units, results can be directly related to the expected performance of a full size Microfilter, giving a direct relation to both the capacity and filtate clarity. This enables us to guarantee the size and performance of the correct size of unit for your application especially as the Test Filter we use is our smallest production Microfilter, nor a pilot unit.
